The Appeal
Produced between 1993 and 1998, the 993 was the last generation of the 911 series to be powered by their famous boxer 6-cylinder air-cooled engine, going some way to explaining why the 993 is now a highly sought-after version of perhaps one of the best sports cars ever made.
With those exquisite lines that have stood the test of time considerably better than most, it is surely one of the prettiest 911’s, and isirrefutably a driver’s car, especially with that 3,600cc engine producing an impressive 272 HP.
In what appears to be completely original and unmolested condition, with an excellent service history and verified low mileage, this is a rare gem, and a fantastic opportunity to own a very desirable and timeless sports car.

Owned by a farmer since 2010, the car has been dry stored and used sparingly (less than 4,000 miles) during his tenure. He had originally purchased It from a GP in North Wales who had owned it since 2006.
With 6 previous owners, all the original booklets are present in their original wallet and there are some historical MOTs and invoices too. Importantly the car comes with a comprehensive service history, providing some assurance to its next owner that the car has been well cared for throughout its life.
There are two recent maintenance and service invoices on file, one for August 2015 at 67,386 miles carried out by Porsche specialist Tony Greatorex in Cheshire (£974.20), the other from July 2023 at 67,908 miles carried out by Porsche specialist Dave Griffiths Racing in Shrewsbury, this includes some mechanical repair work, a new battery and the fitting of a new Cat 1 Cobra Alarm (£2314.85).
The Interior
Full blue leather interior
All very original and in good shape overall
Sunroof
All leathers present very well. There is some very lightwear to the drivers seat bolster but this is commensurate with the cars age
There are signs of minor cracking which will easily be putright with some leather conditioner
Carpets are in good order and have been protected by fitted Porsche over mats
Rear seats fold down and are in excellent condition
Electric seats
Electric windows
Clean and dry carpeted boot
Nice and clean headlining
Door cards all in good shape
Alarm fitted
Original Blaupunkt radio/cassette player
No cracks to dashboard with all instruments and gaugesworking as they should
There is a warning light that needs to be switched off manually and it is believed to relate to an airbag light which will require further investigation
As you take your seat there is the beautifully designed Porsche instrument cluster in front of you, reminding you that you are in one of the most capable and enjoying driving machines ever made. Regularly used, but never tampered with, there is a particularly warm glow that is derived from sitting in a 911 quite as original as this one.
The Exterior
The original blue paintwork is generally in good condition throughout with a few areas to draw attention to
Two minor chips to the windscreen
Some minor surface rust evident at the base of a few of the wheel arches where stones have been thrown up from the wheels
Some age-related marks and a couple of minor dents and the drivers door edge is showing that it has been in contact with something over the years
Minor corrosion around rear window – black strips are showing signs of wear and tear but nothing unusual for the age of the vehicle
There are some minor scuffs to the underside of both the front and rear bumpers
There are several stone chips especially to the bonnet –some have been touched up, others haven’t
There are signs of minor surface corrosion to the suspension struts, under body and fuel and brake lines but nothing serious
The engine cover will require new struts (a common problem) but the engine bay looks very clean
A few minor scuffs to wing mirrors
The original 16” alloy wheels all look nice and clean. They are showing some early signs of corrosion and would benefit from being refurbished at some stage
Two tyres are a little worn and will need changing soon
The rear lights are ever so slightly hazy
Good overall condition with some cosmetic touching-up needed in places
Thankfully the car has been kept original and although there are a few scratches and scrapes dotted around the car, it remains an honest vehicle with nothing to hide. The panels are straight and there are no obvious signs of any paint being applied. A little attention in a few places could easily bring this car back to its best.
The Mechanics
3.6 litre flat-six
6-speed manual gearbox (shorter ratio G50-21)
New battery fitted
Clean engine bay
Solid underneath
Full service history
Recent service in July 23
The mechanical condition appears to be excellent. The car starts well and runs very smoothly reflecting the amount of service and maintenance work carried out over the years. There do not appear to be any modifications, and while driving, the engine pulls smoothly and gets stronger and stronger as you head up through the rev range.
Brakes work well although the handbrake reportedly could do with some adjustment.
Summary
This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase an original and unmolested example of the 993 model. Superbly maintained, with relatively low mileage for its age, this is a very special example of one of the best classic sports cars ever made. What’s more, it’s a blank canvas for the next owner to do whatever they wish - use as is or bring back to its best.
