Replacing the MGA in 1962 the MGB was manufactured until 1980 with over half a million derivatives produced. The lightweight design adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard, and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB achieved a 0–60 mph time of just over 11 seconds. The three-bearing 1,798 cc B-Series engine produced 95bhp at 5,400rpm. It was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact.
Built in January 1978 according to the heritage certificate our car was dispatched on 20th February 1978 to a UK dealer in where it was allocated a Bristol registration number. It was originally Leyland White with factory extras of Overdrive and Rostyle Wheels. It still bears its original registration number and is a “matching numbers” car.
Pretty as a picture with its red paintwork, Rostyle wheels and chrome bumper conversion, this MGB has a lot going for it, the body shell has been restored and the cylinder head rebuilt and it has recently been treated to a new vinyl roof.
Recently recommissioned and serviced, this is one of the nicest MGB’s we have driven andit is waiting for a new enthusiastic custodian to enjoy the road together again.
This one is in genuine condition and has to be an appealing car for anyone wanting a practical classic that is attractive, fun, and easy to live with.
