Detail:
The vehicle was purchased new in November 2000 by a Mrs Finn who lived in Cornwall. Mrs Finn was quite an elderly lady but obviously enjoyed the thrill of speed as after owning the car for just over 12 months and at 11,700 miles she instructed her local Morgan agent to upgrade the performance and fit a supercharger.
We are told a Mr Holder who was the senior technician at Perranwell Garage near Truro consulted with a certain Dennis Priddle of Yeovil based AJ6 Superchargers. Dennis served his engineering apprenticeship at Westland helicopters and was a fabulous engineer. He was at the forefront of the fledgling British Drag Car Scene in the 60’s and built many vehicles over the years but perhaps his biggest accolade was that he was the first European to travel the quarter mile distance in a six second time – he became known as “Mr Six” as a result of this endeavour. Anyway Dennis was an authority on reliable supercharging conversions and they came up with the conversion that is still on the car at a cost of over £18,000! The supercharger transforms the cars performance (+20% more power) providing bags of torque from low down yet the drive remains extremely docile providing you treat the throttle pedal with respect!
Mrs Finn eventually traded the car in for an Eagle E Type Jaguar and the car was put up for sale at a Morgan main dealer in Redding and the current owner purchased it in April 2017. It has been meticulously maintained and has a full main dealer service history and current MOT.
Still retaining its Cornish flag on the rear panel as a nod to its roots, this is a one off car that makes the most fabulous noise andensures that the driver wears a grin at all times behind the wheel.
