Wind-up windows were standard, and a comfortable driver's compartmentoffered plenty of legroom.
The MGB achieved a 0–60 mph time of just over 11 seconds.
The later five-bearing 1,798 cc B-Series engine produced 95bhp at 5,400rpm.
It was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact.
This Flame Red 'B, has had the common conversion back to chrome for a cleaner, less cumbersome look, the polished chrome working well with the lovely paint hue.
Sitting upon a lovely set of Minilite style wheels, with black roof and upgraded headlights the car looks well and sounds well.
Recent spend includes a new rocker cover gasket, battery cut off switch, choke cable and boot seal. Prior to this new front brake calipers, pads and brake hoses have also been fitted.
Some minor repairs were carried out in June 2005 but more major works were carried out in 1989 including paintwork and all is holding up very well mainly due to the low mileage.
The fitment of the parts purchased was carried out by the previous owner, a retired engineer in his own workshop, all good work undertaken during his tenure to keep the car ship shape and reliable for taking the wife out in.
The history file for the car also includes in addition tothat mentioned above, the V5C showing 8 former keepers to the previous owner who purchased the car in May 2022, photos of the car, a sheaf of old MOTs from 2004 to 2023 showing that the car has covered less than 1,000 miles in the last 20 years and a selection of invoices dating back to 1989.
The 'B is ofcourse both tax and MOT exempt and was last presented for MOT on 15thAugust 2023 which it passed showing just 72,747 miles with no advisories.
This one drives beautifully and is in genuine condition and has to be an appealing car for anyone wanting a practical classic that is attractive, fun, and easy to live with.
